In February this year, Google announced in a LinkedIn post that the AI configurations in Google Search Console are now available to everyone.
This is in line with Google’s trials concerning the same feature on limited websites as part of the pilot project, as reported by Google in December last year.
Here are all the specifics about this development.
Google Search Console AI Configuration : Key Features and Limitations
The LinkedIn post of Google Search Central reveals the worldwide release of Google Search Console AI Configuration.
Here is the post.
This has been explained in more detail in Google’s blog titled “Streamline your Search Console analysis with the new AI-powered configuration,” published on 4th December 2025, in which Google has explicitly mentioned its utility for users.
This is how it will work.

Its interface will look like this.

This AI feature will handle 3 key elements:
- Applying Filters: Limit the data based on query, page, country, device, search appearance, or date range.
- Configuring Comparisons: Set up complex comparisons without manual intervention.
- Selecting Metrics: Choose the metrics to display (out of Clicks, Impressions, Average CTR, and Average Position) based on your query.
The blog states that Google has rolled out this feature on a limited number of websites. But it was expanded to other sites in February this year.
However, Google has also mentioned some of its limitations that are worth mentioning. These are:
- It supports only search result performance reports and not the Discover or News reports.
- The improvements are only concerned with configuration and can’t handle sorting or exporting data.
- Always review the configuration, as AI can make mistakes.
